I've yet to meet a ferret that doesn't resist Pred.
(Must taste REALLY icky!).
Our regimen was to squirt a little glob of Nutrical
into their mouth, then, while they were distracted,
quickly squirt the Pred into the very back of the
mouth. I suggest keeping the med syringe in the back
of the mouth for an extra second or so, so they HAVE
to swallow it. (Pull it out too quickly, and they
often shake their head and spray Pred all over your
freshly washed shirt!).
I immediately follow with another small squirt of
Nutrical. DON'T USE TOO MUCH NUTRICAL - it is
sweetened and may upset the glucose balance if you use
too much with a ferret with insulinoma problems.
By the way, Nutrical is great for an emergency with a
ferret having a sudden glucose imbalance (extreme
lethargy, wobbly gait, etc.) It can give the glucose a
boost until you can rush your fuzzy to a vet. Always
keep a tube on hand.
I suggest going to ferretcentral to do a little
studying on insulinoma.

Good luck...
