We've had one outside the norm, too, and had read of others who did better if the starch or sugar intake was increased.
When we had one with lymphoma in the pancreas, and one with carcinoma in the pancreas (either of which can present like insulinoma) each did better with some sugar and starch in the diet.
Not all cases are the same, and not everything that looks like insulinoma is. Still, it is good to know what works best for most while keeping an open mind for the exceptions.
