If this ferret has IBD (which is kind of a catch-all category some things may work for a while but then other things will need to be tried).
For IBD depending on the ferret things which have worked for some include: diet modification, adding fiber (such as plain pumpkin puree) antibiotics, steroids, Imuran (a a chemo drug), some combination, etc.
What is important is to see if the cause can be found because if it can then properly targeted veterinary approaches can be tried.
