We are having trouble with our browser server so hopefully this won't
wind up in twice. Apologies if that happens because we moderators
don't have the option of moderating our own posts so can't tell in
such situations when duplicates happen.

To find links to an assortment of vet comments and on both sides of
this issue go to

http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org/browse.php?msg=SG14923

and link from there.

There simply is no such thing as a perfect diet. Each one has its up
sides and down sides so individuals have to treat this NOT as a
belief situation, but one in which to get the facts and then make
their own choices.

***** The treating vet MUST know what type of diet is given to best
know what sorts of medical problems may be more common for the given
individual since different diets increase different vulnerabilities.
That includes if you feed kibble, if you feed raw, what organs you
give, if you give bones, if you give food with egg shells (a past
ulcer case who bled out and was reported on the FHL as postulated by
the treating vet and also in reply by a member vet to have been
unable to safely handle ground eggshells at that point), what
supplements (Bring ingredients lists for non-standard supplements
since some can actually be dangerous.) you give and how much, etc. *****
