Years ago my vet at the time used Ketamine on one of my cats. She had an
abcess lanced and cleaned, a minor proccedure.

I picked her up that afternoon, semi-concious. The vet assured me she would
be back to normal by evening.

I lay her on our bed, her normal sleeping spot. She continued very out of
it, eyes dialated and salivating. I went to check on her again around nine,
and when I turned on a light, she became frantic and started attacking
everything and everyone.

I recieved some very bad bite and claw injuries trying to contain/calm her.
It took at least 3 more days before she was back to her sweet self.

I discussed this with the vet the next day, he said *some* animals react
like this. About a year later he was no longer using Ketamine on cats.

My ferret vet uses ISO on ferrets, I have not discussed Ketamine with her. I
will now, would like her input.
