I was also surprised, but mostly by 'no' recommendation whatsoever. Maybe
because it's a high cost procedure, not sure, something like $150 just to be
put under for the cleaning, not to mention everything else. They know we've
had a horrible financial situation and that someone else was actually
covering Boo Boo's vet fees that day. The way his teeth looked, though, I
don't think those enzyme treatments will take care of the problem. They do
sell a blue gel for cleaning, and I'm assuming it'd like the chicken
flavored stuff that another person mentioned. but again, I think his dental
needs have gone beyond that.

Or... do you (or anyone) think the teeth cleaning gel will help the current
situation? Dare I hope?

I am surprised at your doctor not recommending teeth cleaning. My doctor has
had to clean three of my ferrets' teeth over the years. Usually once they
hit five or six even the most dedicated kibble eaters need a good cleaning.
