Hi,

This is a rouch translation of the Bayer representative I spoke with:
"I've recommended Advantix because its effectiveness was tested on
ferrets and no skin-sensitiveness or unwanted reaction (allergic reaction,
etc)
was found in any case. The results will be soon published, I'll send it to
you
as soon as it becomes available. The American and European Advantix's
contents are the same.

Advantage does not protect against ticks, but it's good against fleas, and
is very
effective (It contains no permetrin, unlike Advantix).

Advocate is not present in the Hungarian market. It's effects are the same
or
better like Stronghold (it protects against ear mites and hair-follicle
mites(?) as
well). I have no information about whether it's advised for ferrets or not
(I'll look
after it).

Components:
Advantix for dogs under 4 kg AUV, ("K9 Advantix 10" in the USA) (0,4 ml):
40 mg imidacloprid
200 mg permethrin

Advantage (0,4 ml):
40 mg imidacloprid
"

I'd like to know if there are any publications available about the the
problems with
Advantix, or any vet's exact description about the experiences with its use.
It would be
good to get a few free samples of Advantix but only if it's harmless.
