I don't know if this will help, but when our sick ferret didn't want to
eat any more over the last couple of days, and I was worried about
gastric pain as her stools had dark sections and she was rubbing her jaw
on the floor, we found that she would eat a sort of rich egg custard we
made - recipe to follow in the next email. That seemed to help a great
deal and her stools looked better after too. The egg is a good
protein-rich and carb-low contrast to all the sugary supplements that
sick ferrets seem to want instead of proper food, and coddled eggs used
to be very popular for feeding invalids. I think it may have soothed
her stomach.
