Hello,
The problem with crushing up a pill and putting it in a solution is that you can't be sure of the dosage since it can't be completely dissolved into the liquid, at least not from pill form. I would suggest Source Natural Liquid Sublingual Melatonin. It only comes as natural orange flavor. It's ingredients are melatonin 1mg/1ml Other Ingredients:
Sorbitol, natural orange flavor, vegetable glycerine, citric acid, purified water, propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol (6%), methylparaben and propylparaben. Sorbitol is a naturally occuring sugar alcohol in berries. It can be used in diabetic foods since it is less sweet. It is also used to bind things together. http://www.caloriecontrol.org/sorbitol.html I hope this helps. It is what I use and I have not had any issues, and I also do not give any sugary treats either. I was looking at Natrol and I saw the ingredients and freaked. As far as I have found only those two manufacturer's make it in a liquid form.

Fructose is a form of sugar isn't it?
