The possible adrenal growth contribution that Dr. Sue mentioned is thought to be why some diabetic ferrets improve on Lupron, so perhaps if there is an adrenal component using Lupron before a surgical correction (if she gets well enough for adrenal surgery) may be an option.

This past vet post echoes parts of Dr. Sue's and also mentions chromium which can slightly reduce blood sugar (thus good for diabetes as a supplement -- check me on this but I think Brewers Yeast may have it -- but better not supplemented in insulinoma ferrets) and other food options:
