One of my ferret buddies who prefers holistic medicine whenever possible, r=
ecommended Slippery Elm to me. It can be purchased in health food stores, c=
omes as capsules of powdered slippery elm, and I mix 1 capsule in 30 ml (1=
-oz.) purified water. Mix, and it should become gummy (like half set jello)=
. Draw up 1 mL into a dispenser and give by mouth about 20-30 minutes befor=
e feeding. Can also be given in between. It has no taste, and so far mine h=
ave accepted it w/o complaint. Taz even seemed to like it, took it readily =
(but then, she was always the odd one). =

It should be made up fresh every 48 hrs., so if you don't want to waste it,=
mix 1/2 capsule in 15 mL water, etc. Soothes and protects the stomach lini=
ng. I have given it up to 5xday, with no apparent problems .... Although I =
usually prefer carafate, it seemed to work fine for a couple of mine who re=
ally hated and resisted the carafate. Good luck .... =
