If you decide to do anything more, first priority is to get him blood.
If you decide you want to try
something, I would go for a blood transfusion to buy you both time
to decide the next step. It may be that this is a tumor and there is
nothing more to do, but it may be something that can be removed and
he pulls through this.

ps. An ultrasound may just tell you more where this mass is originating
from or what it may or may not be made of ( like solid, cystic, etc)
BUT it won't tell you what it is, a biopsy of some kind would need to be
done.
