Subject: Reaction of Distemper shot
Message-ID: <431B9FFB.30005@cox.net>

I am fostering 2 ferrets for our local ferret shelter. These guys are
around 10 months old and received what we feel were their first
distemper shots Thursday. They did fine following the actual shots but
the male, Dezi, started sneezing and snorting very late Friday. The
female, Luci, started with the same today. They aren't sneezing anything
out and have continued to eat and drink normally. They haven't been as
active today, sleeping more. They have been quarantined from my
personal ferrets since they came into my home on Saturday, Aug. 27. We
did take them out of the house Wednesday to do several TV spots on a
local morning show featuring our local ferret club and shelter and they
were the "stars" for one segment about available adoptables. Again, they
were in a separate carrier and not allowed around the other ferrets.
My question is, could the upper respiratory symptoms be a reaction to
the distemper shots?
Thank You, Jane
