Hi Tam, I'm in the UK and like to give my jills a completely enclosed wooden
box to give birth in, about 12 by 12 inches. I free feed as much as they
will eat and if they are first time mothers I leave them in a quiet place
and do not touch the nest box for a week either side of the birth. If the
mother is used to drinking milk give lots of it if not make sure she is
getting enough calcium . Soy milk will do serious damage to any developing
animal or human infant so don't use it. The kits eyes should start to open
at 21 days and they should be escaping from the nest box at this time. I
start feeding soft raw offal in milk in a shallow dish to them at this age.
