LSU, UAN, and the ASPCA have made available a new way to report trapped animals:
BEGIN QUOTE
Trapped Pets (within Louisiana): To report a pet missing within
Louisiana, you can go to http://www.aspca.org/site/R?i=PulHzNRwszaevaFsMHWpdw.. . This
database is actively reviewed and given to the rescuers in the field.
Trapped Pets (outside Louisiana): To report a pet missing outside of
Louisiana, you can log your pet onto a database that is actively
reviewed and given to the rescuers in the field.

END QUOTE
At present local trained teams have reported that in N.O. they have been following the human rescue teams and removing animals found to safety. Please, see Chere McCoy's Ferret Mailing List post on this, and note the local contact information given in my previous post.
There also at present are specially trained vet teams in the affected areas including New Orleans.
