I recently found that CB (guessed to be about 5 years old) had some very black "pudding" poop. He's on Amoxi and Cafafate (.5 ml twice a day for 14 days) as she is screening for different bacterial causes.
CB has been on Pediapred for about 2 years. We were able to reduce his dosage after removal of several of the nodes on his pancreas in March. The vet said that the black poop could be a result of his pred. We've reduced his dose from .5 ml once a day to .4 ml.
It seems that this is a rare result of pred usage but I don't remember ever reading anything like this.
Any information would be wonderful.
Connie
