The "Tennessee Panel" is the adrenal blood test that would need to be done. This is done by the University of Tennessee. Your vet can get the details on how to submit a sample by going here...

Hair loss just on the tail *may* only be a seasonal thing, though it can also be an early sign of adrenal disease.

Some of the knowledgeable ferret vets I know don't feel that cryosurgery is all its cracked up to be. Most prefer standard surgery.
