I know that no one has answered yet, but I think that's because it's a pretty specific
problem, with no general answers. What I might suggest is to find out if there is a
vet who specializes in animal ophthalmology. We have one in our area. You might
ask one of the universities where you live about it.

I would search out someone besides the vet you have if what he's doing is not
helping. Sometimes vets don't always know everything. I have three vets that I use
from time to time, and they all approach things somewhat differently.

I wish you luck, and I'm hoping Diesel gets better, if nothing else, because my first
ferret was named Diesel (you know, Diesel the weasel, lol).

:Our 7 month old - ferret - named Diesel - has been to the vet twice with an
:eye irritation - we first were given Gentamicin sulfate ophthalmic solution
:- after finishing the bottle of drops (1 drop four times a day) - they
:cleared up briefly and then they were red and sore again - the next
:solution we were giving is Gentocin sterile ophthalmic solution - were
:almost finished this bottle and his eyes are still not clearing up - any
:suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I fear that he may lose his
:sight if we don't clear this up soon or worse they may suggest surgery
:next??
