Lysodren has been pretty thoroughly abandoned for years for treating ferrets with adrenal disease. A lot of the time it just doesn't work. When it does work it can work too completely and throw a ferret into a life threatening Addisons crisis. (I'd never give that med without having Fludrocort and Prednisolone at home handy, having had one it did cause problems for well over a decade ago.)

The meds you need to be looking into if surgery is not being considered are
Lupron Depot
Suprelorin Depot
Melatonin

Notice specific mention of the depot versions rather than the 24 hour version of the med itself.

These resources will help you:

(why Lupron Depot instead of the cheaper 24 hour version)

Two things come to mind for Diesel's eyes... one is allergies, maybe chemicals used on
the floor or emitted from carpet or linoleum... or hayfever.... and the other is inward
turned eyelash irritating the eye .. beyond that.. sorry I'm no help.
