Subject: Left Eye, Anomoly/Infection? Make apt or ER?

My 6 yr old female (Dax) has developed an opaque anomoly on her left eye. She's leaving it closed (perhaps photosensitive?). It resembles the image I found under Merck for "Superficial keratitis" (http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index.jsp?cfile=htm/bc/30106.htm). I did not witness any kind of injury, but she plays a lot with her little sister.

Her behavior is fairly normal; her activity has decreased only slightly and her appetite is healthy.

I imagine the eye must be causing her atleast some discomfort. Should I go to the ER, or should I wait for an appointment? I really don't want her to be in pain!

Thanks!
