Our 6 year old ferret was recently diagnosed with diabetes. She had surgery three months ago to have a tumor removed from her right adrenal plus a tumor on/by her pancreas. Up until the beginning of this month she was being treated for insulinoma. After reading posts here and doing some other research I have been looking at her diet. She has been eating a mixture of Totally Ferret (Regular & Senior) and ZuPreem. I have switched her to just the Totally Ferret for Seniors to see if that will help her blood sugar. It has gone down almost 20 points since being switched - but she has also had her insulin increased. I changed her diet about a week ago.

My question - is lower protein/lowers carbs better for her? She does not currently have full use of her hind legs for which we are giving her physical therapy - so she is not as active as she used to be.
