I believe you will find many that have had ferrets on pred long term that would wholeheartedly disagree with this. The term "pred belly" didn't come about because it's a rare condition. :)

It's not something that happens quickly, but if on pred long term, it will happen. Maybe not in every case, but it's definitely not rare.

As for proglycem... it works well for some and not at all for others. The only way to know for sure is to try it.
