I need to treat my ferrets for ear mites myself because i cannot get to
see our vet anytime soon. i have a solution of ivermectin that is a 1%
sterile solution whose concentration i am told is 10mg/ml. if the
correct dose for a ferret is 0.2 - 0.5
mg/kg and if my ferret weighs 1 kilogram, then i need to give him .05
mls of this? would that then be cut in half again so that each ear
only gets .025 mls? if my math is correct, then this is such a small
volume that im afraid it wouldnt saturate his ear enough. where in the
ear would this go? deep in the ear canal or in the outer ear folds or
both?

someone please advise me.

thanks,
an
