Subject: Skinny Ferret not eating

Hi,
I know of a female silver mitt, Darla, a little over a year old. She lives in
a pet store in a large cage with her mate Spanky.. Her young owner worked
there, but was killed in car crash about 5 weeks ago.
Anyway, this ferret has always been very skinny and small. She is given 8 in1
Ultimate.
For the past few days she has been eating very little. Her stool is normal. I
ground up some of her food in the processor and the other owner of the store
gave it to her tonight, mixed with water and ferretvite. Darla seemed to love
being fed with the dropper I also gave her.
I know other new babies are put in the cage withDarla and Spanky until they
are sold. I thought perhaps the constant stress of kits coming and going
may be stressing her out.
I do know though, that for awhile the ferret was living at home with her owner
and lived alone only with her mate, and she still was always skinny and had
periods of poor appetite. The owners mom didn't want the ferrets at home, thats
when they went to live in a nice Marshalls large condo cage in the store.
They are allowed to run around in the store and are always cared for. Any
thoughts on why she never gained weight and what would cause intermittent loss of
appetite?
Thanks Debbie
