I have a 6 yr old ferret. She has had adrenal surgery on the left, with reoccurance on the R. She has also developed insulinoma. She has been doing fine since three days ago she devleoped weakness in her hind legs. I took her to the vet she was dehydrated and lethargic. After sub q fluids and leaving with prednisolone and the makings of duck soup we came home. It breaks my heart to see her try to and not be able to walk, which means trouble with going to the potty.
My vet is out till Mon, I had decided to take her in and have her put to sleep. It kill me since in under 3 weeks I have lost another ferret to adrenal and my poodle of 15 yrs.) But this is truely my baby, she sleeps with me and gives me more attn than any of the others. So this is probably selfish. As I was getting ready to go to the vet she was more alert adn back to her nosey self. She is eating the duck soup on her own(without the syringe). Still not able to use the hind legs, she wants to walk around but cant. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? ANYTHING WHERE SHE CAN GET AROUND BY HER SELF? OR, AM I BEING ENTIRELY SELFISH? Im at my witts end. I appreciate any help. Tracy and Sadie
