Pepto for a few years haas had aspirin in it.
See past vet posts like:
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org/browse.php?msg=SG12877
which reads in part:
>pepto should
>be used with some caution as it contains salicylic acid (aspirin), which can
>aggravate or even cause ulcers.
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org/browse.php?msg=SG7133
which says in part:
> I would never recommend aspirin for
>a ferret except under some fairly limited and bizarre situations
Some ferrets tolerate aspirin BUT others can bleed out with it -- even without an ulcer -- as we found out when we tried to reduce thromboses for one with a heart condition whose colon began pronounced bleeding from the aspirin that almost cost her life.
---
We have also begun here not using heavy cream for any ferret with IBD because one (Sherman) crashed so badly when fed a slurry containing it that we wound up having the spend over a month nursing him back.
