Just to clarify something: on this score there probably are NO ABSOLUTES. Certainly there are and have been ferrets who take Pepto with no problems, and the bismuth does give a boost to some antibiotics.

It makes sense to know that it may not be best choice and therefore not the first choice when a better option -- like Carafate usually is -- exists.

Still, there are going to be times when it sure is worth the chance, especially if it comes down to treating or not treating when appropriate.
