Chloramphenicol

http://www.usp.org/pdf/EN/veterinary/chloramphenicol.pdf

In some humans it causes aplastic anemia, a very serious marrow problem, so the gloves and washing are very real precautions to take. Wash the gloves first and then wash your hands.

Don't expect to be kissing this ferret. Sorry.

We have used it, but only under extreme circumstances as for a ferret with DIM.

An infection like that is usually going to be ultimately caused by an adrenal tumor or more rarely by a uterine stump, and this type of infection tends to have a high rate of recurrence. Has a Lupron Depot shot been tried, and has adrenal surgery been discussed?
