Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Pepto bad?

If you are not seeing anything that overtly indicates a problme due to the Pepto then there probably has been no problem from it. Unless the treating vet says to do so I personally would not give it close to the surgery date, though, in case it might reduce coagulation (clotting).

As to the surgery, for a chordoma it does make sense to remove an area beside the growth, too. See:

http://www.afip.org/ferrets/chordoma.html

One thing we have found with amputations of any sort in ferrets is that it pays to leave a pretty large soft tissue pillow at the end due to future tissue retraction.
