Subject: [ferrethealth] HELP! - VET ADVICE NEEDED - drug reaction?
Our Tigger the ferret was put on AZATHIOPRENE
yesterday and today he is having great difficulty
walking, his head is bobbing and he is very shaky and
cold. The vet doesn't seem to be able to tell us much
except hand-feed him a bit more and wait till the
blood panel comes back.
Can anyone tell me the possible side effects of this
drug? Tigger had stopped eating about two weeks ago
and we have been handfeeding him daily. They initially
gave him Clavamox for "pancreatitis" (which he is
still on), but he has not had the kind of problems he
is having today. (We also suspect he may have had a
stroke or something, if it is not the drug.) Tigger is
about 7-8 years old.
