Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] HELP! - VET ADVICE NEEDED - drug reaction?

Hi, Michael and everyone else,

Disclaimer: I am not a vet.

I agree blood glucose should be checked ASAP. The
lack of appetite and some of the symptoms you describe
could be part of insulinoma. You may also want to
check with your vet if any harm would be done by
taking Tigger off Imuran just to be certain that it
isn't part of this.

Assuming you can get Tigger back to at least where he
was before this latest turn for the worse, ask your
vet about treating chronic pancreatitis (if that was
the underlying problem) with Viokase-V. It's
pancreatic enzyme in powdered form. Our Pertwee had
chronic pancreatitis and was losing weight to the
point it was dangerous. Mixing Viokase with Bob
Church's Chicken Gravy (which Pertwee loved) allowed
our little monster to regain most of his weight and
live on for another couple of years without further
problems.

Good luck to you and to Tigger.

All the best,
Caity and the fantastic five
