I don't have a clue, because I've never really experienced what you're describing, but it sounds like some sort of toxin. Have you had a post mortem done on the first one to see why he died? Are they any poisons or toxins around your home that you might not be aware of? I would give this some serious thought, if all of them are having the same symptoms, like the mouth sores.
