Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] adrenal removal

I just wanted to observe that the age at which adrenal surgery
can be safely performed really depends on the ferret. I
probably won't be the only person to remark on this. I've had
two ferrets who had adrenal surgery when they were 5 and 6
years old, and they came through just fine. If the
five-year-old is pronounced fit and healthy by the vet,
surgery may be as safe as it would be for a fit and healthy
three-year-old.

The stress of the surgery alone could kill him.
