Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Ferret too old for surgery?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Our approach is to not wean a ferret off Fludrocort and Prednisolone when there has been a need, and to increase the dosage when there are any stress factors, and when the ferret shows a continuing increase in activity until the swings stop.

Also, if the ferret gets a GI bug with diarrhea we get a Percorten shot because we have encountered the Fludrocort passing too rapidly.

Ferrets can be on a tiny dose of Prednisolone and some Fludrocort for quite a number of years without problems.
