Subject: [ferrethealth] thinning hair?

I noticed last night that the hair on my ferrets tail is thinning out.
It's not falling out adrenal disease style, but it's the entire tail. I
had him checked by a vet for adrenal (surgically during his insulinoma
surgery)and the vet said that his glands looked completely healthy with
no signs of disease. I did notice on his tail what looks like tons of
like black specks all over the tail, especially the tip of it. Could
these be causing the hair loss? Is there anything that can be done to
grow the hair back?
