Subject: [ferrethealth] Implant Update...
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Thanks Holly,

Thank you for your kind words. You are not the only
one that has emailed me to say they lost a ferret
after getting the implant. Maybe the implant had
something to do with it... maybe it didn't. We
felt/feel that in Eve's case it does so are working on
finding out the answers.

Tim from Melitak is working with our vet to get
biopsys done to see if it was a result of the implant.

one of the things that i have found out is the most of
the shelters use the Mink implant. The dosage is just
a little smaller and it's a lot cheaper to buy. Our
vet bought the ferret implant. Could this have
anything to do with it since it's such a higher
dosage? I don't think so, because it would have
slowed her heart, not dialated it.

When i know more about their findings I'll let you
know. Right now my baby sits in a cold storage
waiting for them to decide what to do... painful to
think about but I know that she is looking down on me
and that her body being there may help other kids in
the future.

I still do believe in the implants... I know they are
working for other kids... however, I will not have our
other girl go through it... I just won't risk it right
now. 2 deaths in 4 days... too much (not both from
implants)

Joanne
