Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret oozing liquid through her skin on back legs (post Lupron)
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Our Ferret Molly was given a monthly Lupron injection
Thursday. On Friday both her back legs (especially her
feet) were as puffy as marshmallows. The past few days
we have been able to massage them down within about
ten minutes. Then, a few hours later, they seem puffy
again.
Today they were only slightly puffy, but her back legs
looked like she had peed herself - soaking wet.
A few minutes ago I washed off her back legs (thinking
she has accidentally wet herself), but they would
simply not dry off. So I got my reading glasses and
took a close look at her back legs. I pressed on her
back legs and saw that as I pressed on them they began
to ooze liquid out of her pores - nice and evenly -
where I pressed.
She had also been given some subcutaneous glucose on
Thursday because I was told she was slightly
dehydrated.
Would this be a throwing off of excess liquid, or
what? I have never seen something like this before.
I just wiped her legs off as dry as I can get them,
and they are soaked already.
Any clues?
Michael
