In fact - I have a dwarfed ferret ( female) who went
into estrus- she also has a heart stint- part of the
reason she did not grow, and to cycle her OUT of
estrus so she could be surgically spayed we utilized
melatonin in conjunction with lupron ( hormoanl
blocking agnet(. It worked quickly so that her spay
could be done without complications form jhmorraghing
etc.

She lives on evenm after anesthesia and all doing
fine day by day.

In this case and that of several other cardio
(genetic) cases -- the melatonin did no detriment to
their conditions.
