Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] ADV from NZ ferrets
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

There was a similar case with an American pet store ferret. She test
positive and negative on United, negative on Avecon, and positve with the
lowest titer on Uof Ga. Her owner treated her as positve but felt that she
wasn't truely infected with ADV as she never was found to be shedding and
none of the other ferrets in the household ever tested positive. Upon her
death tissues were sent to U of Ga and she was found to be truely positive.
Just because she never shed and none of the other ferrets ever converted to
a positive status in no way meant she wasn't really positive.
