Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Taking kits away from mum at 2-3 weeks of age?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

In reply I understand there was concern on Ulies behalf and that is great as she is only caring for the welfare of our lovely ferrets, and I do know she was refering to me but I have no hostility as we are all here to learn from each other.
Any questions that anyone has about rearing young kits please ask me as you have said you would like to know some of the risk factors, well this is hard to answer as I havent really had any problems and this could be because as I explained earlier the Colostrum the first of any mothers milk even human all my orphans have been lucky enough to have had mum to feed of for them to get this very important milk with antibodies in it.
These days also you can buy so many things that help this kind of feeding even I think you can get Colostrum in powder now as years ago I raised a foal from birth as the mum died and off I went to the dairy to get milk from a cow with a new born that still has colostrum 2 times daily, for it now its a walk to the store!
So thankyou Ulie for your concern and any needing info just ask and if you ask me raising kits the very young ones is a walk in the park as long as you have the right formula for the animal you are rearing!! All the best to everyone and take care kind regards Belinda

Belinda, I don't think that Uli was referring to your earlier post. There are enough differences and Uli provides info to enough people, and mentioned that this was needed for personal communications, that I suspect it is someone else entirely.
