Subject: [ferrethealth] Question on Rats

Hi everyone
I know this is a ferret site, but we are looking after a ladies ferret and her rat. and it turns out that she does not know all that much about rats either.
We have heard that you should not give a rat cheese. Is this true? If so, could anyone tell me why? He is a cute little thing but way to fat. We have had him for almost a month and will be going back to his owner next Friday, and we would like to give her as much info as possible.
