Some ferrets just stay small. My Romana is a happy,
healthy seven year old that looks like a kit. She
weighs maybe a pound since she's bulking up for winter
now. It's kind of like people: some are big, some
are small.

In regard to the "hypoglycemia" issue are you sure
you're not dealing with insulinoma? If you are sweet
treats (i.e.: FuroVite) are the wrong answer. Yes,
they will raise the blood glucose but some claim it
also speeds the disease along. Has your vet
considered putting Bandito on prednisone or
prednisolone to control his blood glucose?
Considering that he's an otherwise healthy three year
old has insulinoma surgery been considered?
