I also wondered if there might be a non-insulinoma cause given that the diagnosis does not sound like it was at first based on a blood test. There certainly can be other causes for those symptoms including ones that are responsive to Prednisolone. I think that a CBC with Chemistry Panel is very much in order as a first step for this one.
