Subject: RE: [ferrethealth] Right after 2nd adrenal removal - How to proceed?
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

I had a male ferret, Scooby, who had both of his glands removed (at separate times)
and he went on Percortin right after the second adrenalectomy. The Percortin did
several things to him -- first, it always looked like he had had too much caffeine or
something, as his eyes were really wide open and secondly, it made him literally
bounce off the walls. He was a maniac! So we extended the time between injections
from a month to a month and a half, with no improvement. So then we went to every
other month, again, with no improvement. So we ended up taking him off of it
altogether. Scooby did just fine without the Percortin, although he was on Pred for the
rest of his life. I have not heard anyone else have the same effects after using
Percortin though.

Just my two cents.

Lisa
