Subject: [ferrethealth] prednisone
My ferret has been on prednisone since this past april and is doing well as
far as gaining weight back any all. My concern is though that in my
nutrition class I am taking in school, we were talking about prednisone and
that it takes calcium from your bones which is a serious side effect. I
asked my teacher if that was exclusive to humans and explained my situation
with my ferret and he said that animals have the same problem. Is there
anyway to get more calcium in my little man's diet. He has a big cage and I
am afraid at some point he may fall from a higher floor and break something.
