Hi everyone,
A few months ago I've asked for your opinion on using Advantix on ferrets.
I was told that Advantix should not be used because of its effect on cats.
I haven't heard anyone actually trying this product and having a bad result.
I've looked into it, discussed it with Bayer, with the following results:
I've uploaded a document to the list's webpage that describes usage of imidacloprid,
permethrin and phoxim on minks. As I've read, it doesn't deal with ferrets, but
shows that these products are safe on minks.

A veterinary in Hungary told me that several of her clients use Adtantix
without problems.
There was a ferret-related event in Hungary where ferrets got free Adtantix
treatment if they wanted to. I don't know about the actual number of ferrets
treated, but there were no bad reactions to the treatment.
On 30 october we've done the same: Bayer offered us free Advantix samples
to put on the ferrets. 50 ferrets were treated with Advantix without problem.
I don't know if it is effective against ticks, fleas (there was no infection recorded,
and no control group), but I guess it should be effective, based on the mink studies.
All ferretd reacted well on the treatment, there were no allergic reactions, or
anything
else.
I think Advantix is safe for ferrets.
