In over 40 years I have never seen
a kit that did not have both eyes completely open by day 28 but I don't feed
mothers or kits on kibble. Chris
**All of our kits have had their eyes open by four weeks. Granted, we've not
been breeding that long, but so far none have been delayed beyond that. We
feed kibble, but supplement with chicken gravy.
I'd have to agree with Chris that any kits having their eye opening delayed
to that extent are seriously in trouble. As a breeder, that line would be
stopped immediately.**
