Subject: [ferrethealth] Ear Infections
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Hello Everyone,

I am surprised that yesterday we diagnosed our second ferret in two weeks with massive ear infections. Both ferrets who have come down with this ailment have had ruptured eardrums, discharge, ataxia and dehydration. I know that these little fellers are able to contract just about anything us humans do but I find it kind of weird that ear infections have developed.

There were no cross contaminated articles to spread it and we always wash our hands after doing anything with a ferret in a compromised health situation. I have not heard of anyone who has had a ferret with ear infections...

What do you think?

Dook-a-doodle-do,
