Yes, progressing upwards from the base of the tail.
Losing hair between the shoulder blades and then
progressing from there is also common.

That sounds more like Nyssa. Her coat doesn't look
like adrenal but it is definitely much thinner than
the full luxurious coat she once had. Our vets
attribute this to side effects from the cortisols
(steroids) she has been on for the last year,
including prednisolone.

It's quite possible. Nyssa's coat seems to be stable.
We haven't had to change any of her dosages in a
while on the steroids. (Meds for her tummy troubles
are another matter entirely. The lymphoma is doing a
number on her GI tract.)
