I am going to suggest a completely different option: rice water.
ASK YOUR VET IN A PHONE CALL IF YOU CAN TRY THIS.
Cook rice -- NOT the instant kind -- in too much water for longer than rice is normally cooked. Strain it to remove the rice. If you have to flavor the thick water with something like Nutrical to get acceptance try that. This is a very old fashioned way to reduce the runs and we even found it useful when ECE was in our family. It was not useful for IBD with our two who had it, but otherwise has been a useful thing to try. We have never encountered any problem with this approach.
